I do restoration work for all sorts of models, from complicated ship models ot easier pond models. Much research is done to see what the model looked like in its original condition. Most of the time we don't have to touch the hulls, but the rigging is almost always in bad condition. The model is first cleaned then the parts are laid out to see what is missing. All missing parts are had made by me or when necessary my machinist (brass turnbuckles etc). The following are two examples of work that I have recently completed.
