This is a great model of the 877 ton "Bangalore" (her name is painted on the bow on boat port and starboard sides) She is presented in a simply fantastic glass case. The edges of the case are done in brass. The hull and paint are in original condition, the standing rigging and running rigging have recently been redone. I believe the model was made around 1900-1910, but the case is more recent. We have done some research into the "Bangalore" and find that she was a British ship that carried both passangers and cargo. Her most frequent passages went from the UK to Auckland, New Zeland. However she also made trips to South America. I have found records showing that she arrived in New Zeland in November of 1834, so she was built around that time.

Size: Boat - 33" from tip of bowsprit to end of boom with a beam of 4 3/4" Base of case is 36 1/2" long X 12 1/4" wide - The glas case stands 31 1/4" high X 35 1/4" long X 11" deep (note the glass case is inset into the base)
