Wonderful, active scene of the Gorch Fock anchored along a town, perhaps Kiel, since that is written on the stern of the ship. Along the stern of the ship is a Tug named "Max." The hull of the ship is red on the bottom and the rest is white with a single blue line near the top. The name Gorch F, is painted on the bow of the ship and Kiel on the stern. Several port holes are painted in black. The ship has 3 masts with double yard arms. The shrouds are black and the remaining rigging is white. The tug has a single mast with a smoke stack with billowing black smoke coming out. In the water is a large buoy with a red bottom, white middle and black top. On the buoy are the initials "TC" for the maker. The land is full of buildings with 11 different structure including a castle, church, windmill, lighthouse, government buildings, and more. The castle is gray stone painted and there are turrets on each side and an archway in between. Above the arch is a gold ball and below that "T.C." (for Theodor Carstensen, the maker) and the date 1959. There are 8 trees among the buildings. The ship is sealed with a cork wrapped in Reynolds wrap. It sits on a homemade stand with the words "Seefahrt ist not" There is also an coat of arms painted on the stand. Theodor Carstensen is a co-author of the book "Der Perfekte Buddelschiffbauer" and very similar ships to this model are shown in his book.
