This is a large and magnificent diorama of a three masted Bark. The name of the Bark is unknown, but the age looks to be mid to late 1800's. It is most likely a British ship. The owners flag says "R. Caruso". This diorama is unique because it has not only the large bark, but also three smaller boats - one pilot boat and two steamer tugs.
The model is in original condition, hand made carved wooden sails. There are a total of 27 sails on the bark, and 9 on the pilot boat. There has been some minor restoration and there is some missing running rigging on the pilot boat and tug boats.
Glass frame is "old" but probably not original to the diorama.
Size:
Frame - 50" wide X 25 1/2" high
Inside - 47 3/4" wide X 23 1/2" high
Depth - 5 3/4"
